Sound absorbers, mattresses, upholstery, sealings and sponges are some examples of their fields of application. The features can vary a lot depending on the cell dimensions and the quantity of closed or semi-closed cells. Cellular polyester: Cellular polyester is similar to cellular polyether but it has a more uniform cellular structure and is oil and fat resistant. Sound absorbers and filters in environments that require oil-resistance are some examples of its fields of application. What is Superseal and when is it used? Superseal is available in both cellular polyester (W) and cellular polyether (KD), both of which have semi-open cells. They are primarily used as seals, often in the automotive sector, and are fire-rated in accordance with FMVSS 302. What is the difference between cellular polyethylene and cellular polyester? Cellular polyester has a more uniform cell structure and better resistance to oil and grease than cellular polyether. It is often used as a sound absorber or filter in environments where chemical resistance is required. What is the temperature resistance of the materials? Temperature resistance varies: Isoseal withstands temperatures from –40°C to +120°C, Basotect up to +240°C, and bonded foam from –40°C to +120°C. The choice depends on the application. What makes bonded foam stand out? Bonded foam is recycled cellular polyurethane with good sound absorption and high density (100–160 kg/m³). It is an environmentally friendly alternative with high mechanical stability. What makes Fireflex stand out? Fireflex is an open-cell polyester foam with high fire resistance (UL-94 HF-1, FMVSS 302). The material is often used as a lightweight and effective sound absorber. When is Bulpren most suitable? Bulpren is an open-cell polyester foam and is mainly used as a filter material and for speaker protection. It is available in 10–30 PPI and provides good airflow. When should you choose Lamiflex? Lamiflex is a semi-closed-cell polyether foam developed as a sound-absorbing material. The material is lightweight, highly flexible and meets the fire safety requirements set out in FMVSS 302.
