SI stands for silicone and is a type of synthetic rubber based on silicon with outstanding temperature resistance, often ranging from around -80 °C up to +200 °C. The closed-cell structure means that the material does not absorb liquid, providing an effective seal against dust, moisture, air and water. The material retains its shape, elasticity and flexibility over time – even when subjected to significant temperature fluctuations and very low temperatures – and neither cracks nor hardens with age.
