Solid EPDM rubber – dense, hard-wearing and weather-resistant

We offer three different hardness grades of solid EPDM rubber (50º, 60º and 70º) which are ideal for sealing against water and air. Its compact, homogeneous structure makes it highly impermeable, dimensionally stable and resistant to moisture, weather and wear. Solid EPDM rubber is a high-quality solution that can be used, for example, for sealing windows, doors, roofs and pipes.

EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer and is a type of synthetic rubber with excellent sealing and insulating properties. Unlike cellular rubber, solid EPDM rubber is a compact material without a cellular structure, which provides high density, good dimensional stability and high resistance to wear. The material is available in various forms, including EPDM rubber sheeting, EPDM strips and EPDM profiles, which are used in the construction industry for sealing roofs, windows and doors. EPDM sheeting is also used to protect surfaces from the elements, for example as roof and façade cladding.

Solid EPDM rubber has many advantages that make it a popular choice for demanding applications. It has high chemical resistance, withstands both high and low temperatures, has excellent UV and ozone resistance, low permeability and high wear resistance. As the material is solid, it can withstand higher pressures and mechanical loads than cellular rubber and retains its properties over a long period. EPDM rubber also has good elasticity, which means it can be stretched and compressed repeatedly without cracking.

Widespread use of solid EPDM rubber

Solid EPDM rubber is used in many different industries. In the automotive industry, it is used for sealing strips around doors, windows and windscreen wipers. In the construction industry, it is used for roof, window and door seals, as well as glazing strips. It is also used as gaskets and seals in the food and pharmaceutical industries, and in the water treatment industry to protect equipment from corrosion and leaks.

Solid EPDM rubber sheeting is a popular solution in the construction industry for waterproofing roofs, including green roofs and roof terraces. It is also used for dam sealing in agriculture, as well as for protecting water sources and reservoirs in the water treatment industry. EPDM rubber sheeting has excellent resistance to UV radiation, ozone, high temperatures and chemicals, making it a reliable and long-lasting solution. Solid EPDM rubber is also used in other applications such as hoses, cables, O-rings and gaskets.

In summary, solid EPDM rubber is a synthetic rubber with excellent properties and a wide range of applications. It is a dense, durable and weather-resistant solution for sealing, insulating and protecting surfaces and equipment.
