Horda Stans Sustainable Development

For us at Horda Stans contributing to a sustainable, future world is a natural part in all we do. We always strive to be at the forefront in selection of materials and transports, maintaining our facilities and to be as effective as possible in use of materials and recycling.

We have been certified to ISO 14001 since 2000 and are now also certified to the FSC® standard.

At Horda Stans, we are convinced that the move towards more sustainable production is, and will continue to be, the key to our success. We have a modern and efficient factory where we use only renewable electricity and geothermal heating to minimise carbon dioxide emissions. We have no emissions to air, soil or water. Our transport is handled by a haulage company that actively works to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions per tonne-kilometre. Our internal transport is currently carried out using modern electric forklifts and pallet conveyors.

We currently manufacture components from a wide range of recycled materials. We use materials that consist largely of recycled PET bottles, hemp, polyester and wool, as well as materials made from recycled paper. Many of our materials can also be reused in the next stage of the process. We currently reuse some of our customers’ fabric offcuts, which are sent to our supplier and turned into new material that we then use to make new products.
