Basotect is an open-cell melamine foam that is extremely lightweight and offers excellent sound absorption. It can withstand temperatures of up to +240°C and is UL94 V-0 fire-rated.
Cellpolyether is a versatile foam material available in various densities, cell sizes and with open or semi-open cells. We use it, for example, in sound absorbers, mattresses, furniture padding, seals and washing-up sponges.
Isoseal/Situseal is a semi-closed-cell polyether foam used as a sealant or sound absorber. It withstands temperatures from –40°C to +120°C and is fire-rated in accordance with FMVSS 302.
Superseal is available in both cellular polyester (W) and cellular polyether (KD), both of which have semi-open cells. They are primarily used as seals, often in the automotive sector, and are fire-rated in accordance with FMVSS 302.
Cellular polyester has a more uniform cell structure and better resistance to oil and grease than cellular polyether. It is often used as a sound absorber or filter in environments where chemical resistance is required.
Temperature resistance varies: Isoseal withstands temperatures from –40°C to +120°C, Basotect up to +240°C, and bonded foam from –40°C to +120°C. The choice depends on the application.
Bonded foam is recycled cellular polyurethane with good sound absorption and high density (100–160 kg/m³). It is an environmentally friendly alternative with high mechanical stability.
Fireflex is an open-cell polyester foam with high fire resistance (UL-94 HF-1, FMVSS 302). The material is often used as a lightweight and effective sound absorber.
Bulpren is an open-cell polyester foam and is mainly used as a filter material and for speaker protection. It is available in 10–30 PPI and provides good airflow.
Lamiflex is a semi-closed-cell polyether foam developed as a sound-absorbing material. The material is lightweight, highly flexible and meets the fire safety requirements set out in FMVSS 302.
Superseal KD, Isoseal and several semi-open-cell polyurethanes are frequently used in the automotive industry due to their fire rating and their sealing and sound-dampening properties.
